Percent-Gradient - Degree Conversions

These rules cover both, Percent-Gradient to Degree conversiond and Degree to Percent-Gradient conversion.

Rule Of Thumb

In order to convert a Percent-Gradient into a Degree value, use the following rule of thumb:

Rule-Of-Thumb

Degrees = %-Gradient multiplied by 0.57

Tip

In order to make the calculation a little easier, just use the factor 0.6

Example with 5% gradient

Degrees = 5 x 0.57 = 2.85 [deg]

You can of course work out the Percent-Gradient from a certain Angle:

Rule-Of-Thumb

Percent-Gradient = Degree divided by 0.57

Example with 5% gradient

Percent-Gradient = 4 : 0.57 = 7 %
